It happens from time to time, we have slow flushing toilets. Sometimes we don’t think anything of it. But slow flushing toilets could be a bigger problem than we think it is. If it happens too often, or all the time, it is time to consult with a professional plumber. Let’s see some possible reasons why below.

Slow Flushing Toilets

If the toilet is flushing slowly, the first thing to do is to check the water level in the tank. If there isn’t enough water in it, the toilet won’t flush properly. If the water level is too low, adjust the flapper as necessary so it fills high enough for a proper flush.

A clogged toilet will also cause it to flush slowly. An occasional clog isn’t something to worry about. We have all flushed things we shouldn’t. But if a clog is happening on a regular basis, and it isn’t due to human error, there is cause for concern. It doesn’t even need to be blocked completely for there to be a problem with the natural downward flow of water motion.

The natural choice to fix a clogged toilet is to attack it with a plunger. But like mentioned above, if it is a reoccurring problem, the temporary fix with a plunger won’t work. Also, continuing to use a plunger when it isn’t solving the problem can end up hurting the plumbing in the long run, or even damaging the drain.

If you are experiencing problems with a slow flushing toilet, over an extended period of time, it’s likely that it’s a drain problem, and you could benefit from calling a professional plumber. You would need a drain cleaning service such as hydro jetting. We can help to track down the source of the problem and help to find you the most effective resolution and keep your drains clear.
